I joined Pressure Points very soon after I got to know Kartsa. We were jamming in a thrash-metal project called Boozers in 2005 (I played the guitar, Kari played the bass and sang) and that's how we got to know each other. After a while he asked me if I was interested in playing rythm guitar in his other band, Pressure Points, that he had just founded with Vili and Janne. After I had listened to their material (Demo 2004) and going to a couple of rehearsals, I decided to join in. We started intensively to rehearse the songs and create new material. As a band we really came an entity in 2007, when Wellu joined in.. Read more about that in Wellu's profile.
Personal history
I started to listen to music when I was in the 7th grade. A friend of mine brought The Offspring's Smash -album to school and I was stunned. Punk was the first genre of music that really inspired me and got me into the whole idea of music. Soon after that I shifted my interests to other bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, COB, etc. The transition is easy to understand, punk and trash have many similarities in my opinion. For me the golden time of music is in the 80's (and the place of course is the Bay Area in San Francisco, the home of trash). Old hard rock and heavy is also something that really strikes me. Motörhead, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest will always be a part of my record collection.
When I got to high school I felt like I wasn't getting enough of music just by listening, so I borrowed a friend of mine's acoustic guitar (Landola, a finnish guitar label) and began to play. That happened in the autumn of 2002. The next summer I bought myself Epiphone Les Paul, and my life changed permanently. Creating new music and new ideas has become a surprisingly important part of my identity.
I've always also listened to other kind of bands and music. I consider Beastie Boys and Prince as musical genious, as well as David Bowie. U2, especially the early stuff, is great. Nowadays I am fond of Billy Talent, Mastodon, Devin Townsend, etc. Good music has something to say, no matter what the genre is.
